Can I compress images and videos together?
Yes. Add images, videos or both to the same file list. The tool processes each file individually and lets you download results separately or together in a ZIP. It does not merge images and videos into one media file.
Can I reduce file size without losing quality?
Lossless PNG encoding preserves pixels, but may not make an already optimized file smaller. JPG, WebP and video compression can remove detail. Choose Higher quality and inspect the preview; no fixed percentage of savings or unchanged appearance is guaranteed.
Do my files leave my device?
No. Compression and conversion happen in your browser, using your device’s processing power. Files and results stay temporarily in memory, without uploads or browser storage. Download what you want to keep before refreshing or leaving. Your original files are never changed.
Which images and videos can I use?
Choose still JPG, PNG or WebP images, or short MP4, MOV or WebM videos. Images can be up to 20 MB and 24 megapixels. Videos can be up to 100 MB, 5 minutes and 4K (3840 × 2160 or the portrait equivalent). A batch can contain up to 20 files and 200 MB total. Video support also depends on the codecs inside the file and your browser. The tool checks compatibility before processing.
Can I convert formats as well as compress?
Yes. Save images as JPG, PNG or WebP. Video output is MP4 or WebM where your browser supports it. Auto chooses a compatible format. Transparent image backgrounds are preserved by Auto, PNG and WebP; selecting JPG turns them white. GIF, HEIC, AVIF, SVG, animated images and videos with multiple audio or video tracks are not supported in this release.
Will compression affect quality?
Compression can remove detail. Balanced image compression checks sampled detail and color before choosing a smaller result. Higher quality prioritizes appearance, while Smaller file accepts more loss. PNG uses lossless encoding. Video is re-encoded and can lose detail; try a five-second preview first. Savings vary, especially for files that are already optimized.
Can I choose a video file size?
Yes. Under More options, enter a target size in MB. The tool estimates a video bitrate from the duration and reserves space for audio. Actual size can vary, so the result is an estimate, not a guaranteed upload limit. Lower targets can noticeably reduce quality.
Will my video keep its sound?
Yes. The tool preserves the audio track or converts it to a compatible format. If your browser cannot do that, processing is blocked with an explanation. It never silently creates a muted copy. Subtitles and additional tracks are not supported. This is not an archival metadata-preservation tool.
Why can video take longer on my phone?
Your device does the work. Processing speed depends on its hardware, available memory and browser support. Keep this page open and your screen awake while a video is processing. If a file is unsupported, try a current desktop browser or a shorter clip. There is no server fallback that uploads your files.
