Do my images leave my device?
No. The compressor reads and processes your images in your browser. It does not upload them or save them in browser storage. Images and results are held temporarily in memory. Download the results you want to keep before refreshing or leaving this page.
Which images can I compress?
Use still JPEG, PNG or WebP images. Add up to 20 files, with a limit of 20 MB per file, 80 MB per batch and 24 megapixels per image. GIF, HEIC, SVG and animated images are not supported.
Will compression change the quality?
JPEG and WebP compression can remove some image detail. A higher quality setting keeps more detail and usually makes a larger file. Compare the previews before downloading. PNG uses lossless encoding, so changing quality does not make PNG smaller; resizing it or choosing WebP can help. Some images are already well compressed.
What happens to transparent backgrounds?
PNG and WebP support transparency. JPEG does not, so transparent areas become white when you choose JPEG. Choose PNG or WebP to keep a transparent background.
Does this change my original files?
No. Your originals stay as they are. The tool creates new downloads. Use Clear all to remove the current images and results from the tool, or close the page when you are finished.
